Laundry Line, Backyard

Clothes drying between two clapboard houses, an ordinary yard painted with real affection. Watercolor forgives nothing and hides less, and here it is used exactly: quick washes for sky and wall, the line of laundry drawn in one living pass. The humblest subject in the collection, and one of the most loved.
